Willie Larry Randolph, born July 6th 1954, is a former American professional baseball player celebrated here for his tenure with the New York Yankees.
Over thirteen seasons, he showcased exceptional defense and batting discipline, contributing to World Series victories in 1977 and 1978. Randolph earned Six All-Star selections, and was the Silver Bat Award recipient in 1980.
From 1986 to 1988, Randolph co-captained the Yankees alongside Ron Guidry. Beyond his playing career, Randolph served 11 seasons as a coach, contributing to the team's four World Series championships from 1996-2000. His leadership, both on and off the field, left an indelible mark on the Yankees legacy.
In 2015, the Yankees honored him with a plaque in Monument Park, recognizing his enduring impact.
